What really goes into boudoir photography cost?
Hint, it’s all in the boudoir experience
Transparency is so important to me. And given you’ll soon be baring all, propped up on a bookcase looking every inch the gorgeous model that you are–the least I can do is talk about boudoir photography cost with honesty. I offer two boudoir experience packages priced at $299 and $450.
The first package, The Pure Boudoir Experience, is a lite version of my main package: The Full Boudoir Suite Experience. You can read more about both of my packages here, however I want to use this blog to touch on the essence and experience of boudoir itself. And how what goes into boudoir photography cost and what you see as valuable, is an intimate and individual opinion.
Finding a photographer that will enhance your boudoir experience
Gazing down the lens of a camera can create a bubble of nerves. Fold in a layer of nudity and vulnerability and suddenly, your idyllic boudoir experience is feeling like a photographic interrogation. Which is why finding a photographer that will enhance your boudoir experience should always be prioritised over boudoir photography cost. Unlike traditional photoshoots, boudoir is a radical act of self acceptance. And the photographer you choose for your boudoir experience should empower you, reframe any negative self talk and celebrate your body exactly as it is in the moment.
Location, location, location
Most traditional boudoir shoots take place inside a bedroom. However, I’ve photographed women in many indoor and outdoor locations over the years. From salty undone beach boudoir through to overgrown fairy garden goddess–choosing the right location will set the mood for your boudoir experience. During our pre-photoshoot consultation, I’ll ask prompting questions to gauge your comfortability and make recommendations on a location that’s going to bring your vision to life.
Curating a boudoir experience with outfits, props and accessories
Boudoir is synonymous with lingerie, however this couldn’t be further from the truth. While most women use a boudoir experience as an excuse to indulge in all things sheer, lace and silk, you don’t need to wear lingerie—or even be naked. Shirtdresses, one-piece bodysuits, bathrobes, veils and even a bed sheet can be draped, wrapped and worn to enhance the theme of your boudoir shoot. I wrote an entire blog on boudoir outfits and how to choose something that transforms your experience into an all-embracing act of self care.
After all, boudoir photography isn’t just boudoir photography. It’s not a matter of Googling ‘boudoir photography cost’ after a glass or two of bubbles on a Friday night and booking with the cheapest photographer you can find. Your boudoir experience itself is going to shape how you feel about yourself and the final photos. So I encourage lots of research, discussions with your potential photographer and ultimately, choosing a professional who can guide you through a photography experience that sees you discover your divine feminine.
Thank you for stepping into my version of boudoir–I hope this blog has inspired you to lean further into your own journey of self acceptance.
